Charles Baths

Charles Baths, one of Prague’s largest music clubs, is located on the Smetanovo embankments, not far from the Charles Bridge. The club is open daily from 21 p.m. to 5 a.m. Here you can choose from several halls offering different music styles. On the ground floor, there is the MC Music Café focusing on hard rock music. On the first floor, in a former swimming pool, there is the dance floor Discotheque, a floor above you can find the Kaleidoscope hall specialised in the music of the sixties to eighties. On the third floor contemporary dance music is played – techno, house and trance. The fourth floor is not accessible and the fifth floor – the so called Chill Out – is dedicated to relaxation music.

Roxy

Prague’s legendary alternative club on Dlouhá Street offers manifold cultural entertainment. The club is especially popular with young people. In the main hall live concerts, dance parties and non-traditional fashion shows are organised. Both Czech and foreign music groups perform on the stage. The needs of the visitors are satisfied in three bars. On the second floor there is the experimental space NoD, which is used especially for theatre performances and film projections. Thematic evenings presenting cuisines, traditions and culture from foreign countries are also on the programme. The visitors have an opportunity to use the Internet for free.

Mecca

This music club in Holešovice focuses mainly on contemporary dance music. Mecca was opened on 26 September 1998, as a pleasant combination of a music club with a restaurant and a café. Since the very beginning it has become a sought-after place of Prague nightlife and also a place for organising various cultural and social events. During the week several nights of popular resident DJs take place here. Fans of techno, house and trance all come into their own. Frequent guests of the club are renowned DJs from Great Britain as well as from the United States. The club is far-famed for its perfect gastronomic service.
